Ryan Leslie Making "Gibberish"

Singer
Ryan Leslie signed a recording contract with Universal Records when he was an unknown artist looking for his big break. In 2005, he began recording his debut album entitled Just Right. He released two singles off the album, "The Way That U Move Girl" and "Used 2 Be" featuring rapper Fabolous but the songs did not chart. However, due to the singles performing poorly in the US, the album was shelved for the US market and released as a promo, and in Europe the album was released on November 1, 2005.

Leslie returned to the studio in 2007, to begin recording his sophomore album. He recorded the song "Diamond Girl" which will be released as his first mainstream single on May 2008. The video became available on April 16, 2008 on the Universal Music Group Youtube Channel. His self-titled debut album will be released in August 2008, the date has been shifted to create some buzz over his new single Addiction (featuring Cassie). In February 2008, G-Unit released the song "Bottom Girl" a remix of the original.[4] In November 2007, he released a video for a song named "I-R-I-N-A".[5] Whether the song will appear on the album cannot be confirmed.

As a producer and songwriter, Austin was first noticed and signed to Diva One Music by Joyce Irby (80's all girl band Klymaxx) and has crafted hits for LaFace act TLC (with which he won two Grammies for co-producing CrazySexyCool and FanMail), including the hit singles "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "What about Your Friends", "Creep", "Silly Ho" and "Unpretty." As a teenager, Irby took Austin to Sylvia Rhone, Motown head Jheryl Busby, LA Reid and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis asking them to give him a shot as a producer. Other credits of Austin's include the number-two single "Hit 'Em Up Style" recorded by Blu Cantrell, "Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Just like a Pill" by P!nk, and the hit "Secret" by Madonna. In more recent times, Austin's work has returned him to the charts, writing and producing the successful "Trick Me" for Kelis as well as "Left Outside Alone" and "Sick and Tired" for Anastacia.

Austin has tried his hand at remixing for other artists, most notably "They Don't Care About Us" for Michael Jackson and "The Power of Good-Bye" for Madonna.

In addition to American artists, Austin has produced songs for international artists. In 1999 Austin and Japanese pop singer Amuro Namie began a professional relationship in which he produced many of her songs until 2003.

He also produced the Girls Aloud' Comic Relief collaboration with Sugababes on "Walk This Way". He is also responsible for producing Gwen Stefani's single "Cool" from her Love.Angel.
